194? Cent Thin Planchet

Happy Friday!!!
Here is a cent that a customer brought to me and thought it was a split planchet.The coin weighs 1.7 at first i thought it was a nitric acid dip but wouldn’t all the details of the coin have been effected the same?
Could this have been a split planchet pre strike? The reverse appears to have evidence of a split like a lamination. Looking forward to your reply’s and knowledge!!

Split before it was struck.

 

A 1961 in AU55 sold there a couple weeks ago for $35. Lot of them more in the $50-80 range though.

 

Not bad for a messed-up penny, right??
