Might as well complete the "Life of Lincoln" set. About to snipe the "Presidency" reverse now for dirt cheap.

My all time favorite find -- it was in a jug of loose change from when I wasn't collecting. Anyone want to estimate the grade?

these came in yesterday, but the 74S was supposed to be a proof, the seller refunded the cost of it.

That’s a beautiful coin, and I would guess an MS67RD.

I wonder if a quick acetone rinse would remove that dirty spot on the obverse? I might even try a distilled water rinse first, to see if it would just dissolve it away.

This is exactly the thing I am amazed at in the coin market. NGC gives a price guide value for an MS67RD of $260, with 540 graded in 67 or 67+.

Yet, in the raw coin market, these are so cheap that the seller can toss one in with a small order as a gift.

I guess I can figure out why this is, but it does not keep me from feeling that coin grading exists to suck money out of collectors. Sure, there are loftier goals, but a lot of them have to do with making money, rather than enjoying coins.

I suppose I should NOT post this over on the PCGS site.

This is an upgrade from a PF-69 I have, leaving only the 2010, 2012 and 2025 Shield cents not in PF-70. The 2025s are just overpriced, so I have not been motivated to buy one.
