Happy to add Stage B of the retained cud to my collection.
All I need now is the stage 1 of the cud.
    Images are as follows
    - 2020 die cracks that makes the home for the cud eventually
    - image 2 2020 retained cud stage a
    - image 3 2020 retained cud stage b
    - image 4 is stage 2 of the cud
    - image 5 is the cud in all its glory
    - last image is an excerpt Mike Diamond wrote up for the three cud stages for coin world.

I guess I should look at my change more carefully. When I see a shield cent I toss it in the jar without a second thought. More fun for somebody else I suppose.

I say the same about memorial cents lol I just look for key dates.

Great photography and sequential shots. You can almost feel it moving.

I don't think pics 2 and 3 are from the same die. Each has unique cracks and chips. Weird as it seems, looks like two different dies broke in about the same place!

They r the same die and also reverse dies for all the same die chips on left of shield and a slight rotation 3°-5°.
The extra cracks and chips or due to the area of that die break falling more with each strike .

I was thrown off because the 2nd coin appears to have another crack in the field under the date, but it seems to be a scratch not a crack.

Yea it is a hit/ scratch the one going below the date and also in the die break of that coin there is another line that is a hit. unfortunate spot for it
