A 1946-D Walker graded by PCGS as a MS-65. 2,151,000 were minted but they all don’t look like this. Lol

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

    Very lustrous!

Do these ever come with a Full Hand, or are they generally weakly struck?

Almost never. Even in proof the left hand is poorly defined. It is also difficult to get a bird with a full breast and/or left leg.

That date/MM? Very seldom--in fact, mine is reasonably well struck for the date.

    Here's a date/MM that does often display a full hand 1944-D

I have fond memories of when they were in circulation and common.

Yes, I was asking specifically about that date/MM. I assumed they were similar to the Franklin, where certain dates are common with FBL and some are nearly impossible.

This thread prompted me to look in Fox; who confirms that weak strikes on hand and head are the rule for this issue. Also it was the lowest mintage since the 38D (2.1M) which was well known at the time and prompted major hoarding of MS examples. Nice AU examples, he says, are hard to find as those that entered circulation are generally well worn.
