Today's cash register finds: 1948-D Lincoln wheat cent Also, someone today paid with 6 JFK half dollars: 2 1971's, a 1998, and 3 2023's. I didn't buy all of these but did buy one of the 2023's for a "pocket piece" to stick in my wallet for the heck of it. It's the first time I've ever seen anyone pay with these since... I honestly don't know how long ago lol.
Well not the best finds I've ever had but I'll take what I can get lol. I want to see if I can fill my Canadian small cent albums without ever going to Canada.
Sadly no. Been to Canada only once, for the World Exposition in Vancouver, in 1986. Nothing against the place if I ever have the time and money to go again. I love traveling and don't get to do it nearly as much as I would like to. Collecting foreign coins and currency almost feels like a way to do that by proxy. Anyway was more about the challenge lol as I do find a lot of Canadian cents in US circulation still, despite the fact Canada hasn't even minted any of them since 2012. When I lived in Washington state was very common to find Canadian coins that got mixed in with US coins in circulation. In Colorado it's a lot less common, but does still happen from time to time.
I was fortunate to travel on the company dime in the past. Saw lots of the world that way. I encourage everyone to experience it if they can. Very rewarding.
Cash register finds today: bicentennial quarter 2009-D DC (Duke Ellington) quarter Now just need to find American Samoa and Guam to finish my 2009 circulated quarter set!
