Hi everyone, I hope all is well. Here are three pennies that I think I found Errors on. The first is a 1964D that looks like extra metal drop on Lincoln’s head. The second is 1989 look like lamination or double struck, I don’t know, but it is shown on both sides. The third 1964 The LI in liberty and on the 9, but that I am not sure of. Thank you all for your help and any information you can offer will be sincerely appreciated. Not sure why the images doubled up like that. I apologize for that. Still learning
Extra drops of metal? Never Interior Die Breaks, Die Chips, Cuds are never added metal. It's when the die becomes worn and pieces of it breaks away. So when the die strikes the blank the metal flows into the voids of the die. So the metal appears raised on the coin. It's a die Deterioration issue. Your last Cent is circulation damage.
The first one is a tiny die break that I wouldn’t have noticed if you hadn’t point out where to look. The second coin was minted by a worn die which caused the second rim. It’s called ridge ring. The coin coin was struck after it left the mint causing damage to the word LIBERTY.
Thank you all for responding. I am learning so much from you guys and I appreciate it very much. Enjoy the rest of you day.
