    Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel
    Ruler : August
    Mint Mark : HS
    Mint Master : Henning Schluter - 1626-1672
    Minted at : Zellerfeld mint

    As for the Wildman reverse design with knight's head gear, I'm still not sure. But during this time period it is not an uncommon design

    You are correct, it was minted in Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel

    Yeah I really like that reverse, looks like alley oop people wearing nautical helmets like the pic below, amazing that it's from 1666! :D

    The volume of coins coming out of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel over the preceding decades was astounding. 1666 was one of the most notable years considering the death of August II on Sept 17, 1666.
