Good morning all ! What are everyone's thoughts on this 1950 Jefferson Proof ? Would the amount of frosted devices be enough to earn the cameo designation ?
Both sides are needed for a designation. That being said, grading proofs from photos is nearly impossible. The surfaces look like it could go CAM.
Not sure if i have a photo of the reverse . If i remember correctly it doesn't have quite the surfaces as the obverse did . And I appreciate any opinion/knowledge given as i don't personally have a collector friend at my desposal to really ask in person , I've been "winging it" for sometime now lol . That's why so many here are such a valuable resource to me and others ! Thanks
I do not collect them, but that is a beauty. I would be tempted to buy it anyway if it was a good price.
Proof coinage habe caught my eye from the very beginning of my collecting . I was able to pick this one up with a winning bid of just under $27.00 I was a happy collector!
A beauty for sure, but I don't think it would get the CAM designation. On the obverse the RUST do not seem to have sufficient frosting. Same applies to Montecillo on the reverse.
Pretty coin, but I would find it hard to say yes from the pictures. Good price; it looks like it is in a slab, that correct?
That is not a disqualifier of Cameo. Judging any MS, and particularly a PF from an image, is a waste of time and damn near impossible.
check between the pony tail and the coat, if the same as a quarter there should be frost or (proof luster) there. that luster will disappear first at least on a quarter, me not know jeffersons at all other then they are kind of like quarters for details
