Due to a friend, the top Carr overstrike on my want list is now crossed off. I already have the 65d... I sent him a coin he wanted and told him to just send me something he thinks is fair. Well I didn't expect this! I really owe him one :)

And for being a bulk-handled this one should grade nicely. It's even my favorite die pair (5) with the RPM!

  3. Hey does your friend have a sister (err I mean another 64D)? Congrats on crossing it off your want list. TC :)

Cool. Looks like it got pretty well "handled," though. I'm getting a 63-64 impression. What do you think?

Probably but he won't give them up. I was pretty surprised when I opened the package

Should at least 64. Possibly 65 if I'm lucky. Not sure I'll send it in. Maybe though. I can't resist those killer specials if I have enough raw Carr :)

Yeah, I have a ton of Carr stuff to go in, but most of it doesn't fall under the 'dollars and cents' special they have right now. :/ Debating whether to go the certificate route or not.

Hey, I'm liking that one. I think they need a little age like that, it dulls the cartoonish look.

FWIW, my last submission was one of their "freebies" (which some how still ended up costing >$10/coin), allegedly limited to US issues only, but they cheerfully accepted a Carr restrike as one of my submissions.

Nice. I have been looking for a convincing chinese one--- for, um, reasons.:)

Good thinking posting this too. While all the non-Carr folks are busy with your other thread, maybe they wont come here and muddy up this one. Congrats on the 1964!

Did you know Mickey Mouse was named after Mickey Rooney? Walt Disney was initially calling the mouse Mortimer Mouse. Rooney was just a child and Disney was asking him what he thought of the mouse, when Disney got the idea to change the mouse's name to Mickey. I met him at Sportsman's Park, in Cicero. Mickey Rooney, that is, not Mickey Mouse. :)

Big Julie hailed from there (Guys and Dolls).

    Never knew that Eddie. :)

Nice one! I see it's die pair 5. Now you need 1 through 4. ;)

I was born there. Actually, in Berwyn, but lived in Cicero. But that's something I think you'd know that trivial movie fact. I like Guys and Dolls, too. Sinatra and Brando, how can you not? :)

Another bit of useless information, stuck to the recesses of my mind. Now if only I could remember what I had for dinner last nite.......:)

Glad you have a friend, because I'm no longer your friend until you get ME ONE TOO!!! o_O

Oh what I would have given to have that coin in my exhibition last year!

Seriously, very nice score! Congrats! (jealous grumblings!) :D:D:D
