Smallest coin I own can't be photographed. It's too tiny.

You're not trying hard enough :p
My smallest is probably a 1/50 ounce gold Krugerrand. s-l1200~2.jpg

Almost too small to weigh or photograph. IMG_20231122_194306035_HDR.jpg

Oh, I forgot to mention the best part about my cute little coin. It was free! I traded in another batch of junk silver and a couple of coins for some additional stuff not pictured here, but the little guy was buried in a box of other coins I was just browsing through when I saw the gold shine up out of the bottom.

To make a long story short, I didn't have enough in trade value to include what he was asking for it. He saw I liked it and wanted it so he told me to just take it and gave it to me for free. He's an awesome guy and treats his customers very well, which is why he's pretty much the only LCS that I visit. Free gold is the best kind of gold, and a happy customer is a repeat customer!

Here's how I picture the ancient coin striking method:

Slave A places one die on a flat stone and places a blank flan on that die.
Slave A holds a bronze or iron rod with the other die on top of the blank flan.
Slave B take a honkingly large and heavy mallet and strikes the top of the rod.
If Slave A doesn't flinch, the result is a nicely struck coin.
If Slave A flinches, the coin is poorly struck.
If Slave B misses, replace Slave A.

I know it’s not a real coin, but it is a nice copy.

IMG_20250307_120939825~2.jpg Those are some really nice coins posted here!

I definitely like the small coins. Finally picked up a really nice $1, but it was a jewelry piece at one time and has a solder mark on the reverse.

Price was right, so I got it!

I've got a half dollar from a later year in an ANACS holder graded AU-58. Bought it raw from a LCS and wanted it encapsulated so I didn't lose it. Now with a smaller coin, I don't know what to do with it! They're so small!
