Hello. Hard for me to tell on these if they're legit or just had a hard life. Any help is appreciated.

Zincolns were not created for longevity. Inferior materials lead to inferior coins.

Not sure it is real from the mint but even if it was it doesn’t do a thing for me.

I still think they should have stuck to the aluminum back when they tried it in the 70s. Has to be better than zinc.

I always kinda liked them. Though the one I posted is not in great shape. I own a couple of slabbed ones. This one is one of my favorite:

Ker-riminy sakes! Wampum beads would have been better. Tortoise shell. Plastic. Cardboard. Ceramic. Dessicated orange peel.

Almost any non-toxic substance would have been better.

Wow. Are you trying to say you don't like aluminum? Lol. But seriously, what would be wrong with it? Inquiring minds want to know!

I was saying anything would have been better than what they ended up using. Aluminum would be fine, some countries continue to produce coinage of aluminum…

Oh, okay, sorry. I misunderstood your post. LOL. Yeah, I have a bunch of foreigns that are aluminum. I have one (I think from France) that's zinc and it's not in great shape. I would love to know, if anyone on here knows, why the Mint gave up on the idea.

It's possible but it is very hard to tell as it is easy to remove the plating.

And way before the 70s. Here's an aluminum quarter from 1865. https://uspatterns.store.turbify.net/j425p497.html

Thanks. I'm just going to assume PMD and toss it. It's not in great condition anyway.

It’s only one cent. I’d hang onto it just in case.

Ok, yeah, you're right. I'll just put in my "Not sure" pile.
