I don't know what USPS is doing with my coins. I purchased a coin from a seller in Germany from MA Shops on Feb. 1. It was in the U.S. on Feb. 9. On Feb. 24, it was in Palatine, IL, which is about five miles from my house. Good so far, right? Then instead of being delivered, it was sent to North Dakota, Minnesota, Chicago, back to Palatine, and now Gurnee, IL. Why won't they just deliver my mail? I could have had it two weeks ago instead of having it take a trip around the Midwest. I have another one that I purchased on eBay from Italy in early January. It was last seen leaving Indianapolis on March 2 and hasn't been updated since. Besides this, the coins I have sold are routinely taking two weeks or more to be delivered. Several times a week I get emails, "Did you ship this yet? Where is my coin?" I've had 11 lost packages since late December, including one that was shipped on Jan. 6 and was delivered Feb. 27 (within the U.S.). I had already sent a refund by that point. I can't even blame government cuts because it started in December and I'm not aware of the post office having been affected yet. I had also purchased a few baseball cards on eBay that took three weeks to arrive. I just don't know what's going on but they need to fix it. You coin as seen more places than you have probably ever visited on vacation. I understand your frustration.
I've been buying and selling coins by mail for many years and have only had maybe a handful of minor glitches in 15 years. I hear these stories and feel lucky.
I had a smaller example of this. One of my items was sent to the wrong town. It had to be returned to the central distribution office which delayed delivery for a couple days. We had have a few items sent for free because the post office guarantee for a 1 day delivery. They missed the mark twice, and my wife had the item delivered late, but for free.
It case you haven't noticed, they're breaking everything. USPS just started earlier. Dejoy wants to privatize it, so you have to break it first and then "fix" it.
I had a item shipped to me from China. It arrived in Salt Lake City. (my area) It then went to San Francisco, on to Oakland, then back to Salt Lake. USPS at it's finest.
Would you believe this arrived today? I guess I just needed to complain about it publicly. That or they decided to stop playing with it and let it go.
So to insure quick delivery, as soon as it is mailed, go online and complain that the delivery is taking too long
I’d get in touch with the Postmaster at Palatine. Explain your problem and frustration. May them sympathize with you and see if he’ll call you the next time it comes back to his office. Being only 5 miles away, I would personally drive and go pick it up. The post office is getting worse and I understand your frustrations. Without seeing the package I would say there is a problem with the barcode and or zip code. That’s what usually happens when a package takes a tour of the US.
