LordM Giveaway #123 (pick your prize) Contest status: CLOSED Drawing: 2 April 2025 Winner: @Kasia, on behalf of @masterswimmer Shipped: 3 April 2025 Winner's receipt: pending Hello, everyone, and welcome to the latest giveaway. This will be another one of my "pick your prize" contests, so you can hopefully win something you'll like. To enter: 1. Go view my Giveaway Gallery. 2. Post an entry here, stating which prize you would prefer. 3. State why you chose what you did. NOTE: That last bit is important. To qualify, you have to not only pick a prize, but also say WHY you picked it. Just a few words will do. However, if you are entering on someone else's behalf, you are not required to pick a prize or say why. Your designated proxy will get to pick their choice later, if your entry wins for them. Your prize choice need not be final. I do periodically add new prizes to the Giveaway Gallery, so if you win the drawing, you'll be given a chance to change your mind at the end, if you see a new prize you like more. I just enjoy reading everyone's initial selections up front, since it gives me an idea of what folks like. Click the pic below to go to the prize gallery. The drawing will be done via random number generator sometime on or after the date mentioned at the top of this post. The timing will depend on my schedule. You may consider the contest open for entries until such time as I have posted the final result of the drawing. Totally free: the contest is free of charge, open to everyone, with free worldwide shipping. The only further requirement is that if you win... Please post a receipt in this thread after you get the prize, so we'll know you got it (that helps me keep track). Good luck! That trio of Christopher Columbus-related coins looks very interesting. Put me in for that (at least for now).
Entry post: Thanks lordm for the prize and the contest. I'll take another shot for the Omaha Hoard silver war nickel. Time for it to come to Omaha and join another hoard.
I would choose, I think, the Lucilla denarius. I say "I think" because I am torn between it and several others. But I am fascinated by Roman history and their coins, and I don't have any from Lucilla or the emperors in her life. Besides, I like her hair style.
Entry request for the 1964 birthday year clipped Kennedy Half. Thanks lordm, WoW the selection and the contest are over the top. With so many appealing things, hard to narrow down one.
Thanks for running the contest! As much as I like the skull rechenpfennig, I think I would choose either the Commodus or Lucilla denarius.
Please count me in again for the 1721 1 Real coin. I'd love to gift that to my friend of 30+ years who was born in Seville. He only has a few coins, and he would certainly treasure something like that! Best of luck to everyone, and thank you again for these giveaways!
I'm in and would love the 1917 US quarter. In my mind, it's one of the prettiest coins that the mint ever made.
Entering on behalf of @expat . My $20 postage offer stands. Thank you to @lordmarcovan for the contest. Very generous.
Thanks, Rob, for the contest, and please count me in! I'm sticking with the Roman Empire: ca. 318-320 AD bronze Æ17 of Licinius II, camp gate, Heraclea mint. If I receive it, it will forever remind me of my archaeological dig at the Roman Vindolanda Fort. I actually found a pic of the coin that was found (not mine, mine was so gunked up that you couldn't tell what it was!) at Vindolanda when we were there! Looks similar to the one you're giving away, don't you think? Enough about that coin, though! Here's a pic of one of my wife's fantastic finds, possibly a 1st - 3rd Century brooch that might have been worn by one of the Roman military. They used brooches like these to hold together their clothing, similar to buttons today.
I would like to enter for the Australian Kookaburra. I like silver and I do not have anything from the Australian mint. The design appeals to me. Thank you!
I'm in I would like to win the 1873 seated quarter. I love old coins and haven't put one of them into my collection yet! Thanks for the opportunity
Still want to be the Silver Dollar Coin in my pocket Cowboy!! I bet everyone that has a Tux always compares them to a Doggie smart wise. This is Cookie.. and she says Hi and Good Luck to all in the contest!
Entry post: I completely forgot to post entries for the past couple of contests and let the seated liberty slip, so I'd love to have the ANACS MS62 Peace Dollar. Need more silver!
I'd like to throw my hat in the ring for Giveaway #123. I think I'd like to get lucky for the pair of silver dollars, '21-S Morgan & '35 Peace. Thank you, Rob Just a couple of copper rounds I've got floating around....
