We definitely aren't attracting the new numismatists.

Getting toppled by the lack of new numismatists is the least of my concerns right now.

My concern is getting banned for saying what my concerns are. But why did you start this? "Getting toppled" by the lack of new numismatists seems like an odd topic. I will say that I got a safety deposit box for the first time on Saturday. I hope there's room left for coins.

What was the question again. I was watching our upsetting economy on TV.
(No politics please). Maybe this thread should be locked???

Well I suppose we're getting toppled by youngsters more interested in bitcoin than realcoin. Or it could be Russia. Who knows.

Bitcoin has gotten a beating the last two weeks. Someone clue me in, I have no idea where this is going. A certain someone knows how to private message me, please do.

For what it's worth, I'll throw this in. Yesterday I had a few simple questions about submitting to PCGS yesterday. I was on hold for over an hour, finally hung up. I called back and got a recording that that was all the time in the day left for callbacks and try again tomorrow. So I called early today and finally got a call back a few hours later. That does not signal to me a slow down in interest unless they have two people on their entire help desk. So I am a little confused.

Reading between the lines, chaos and mayhem, dogs and cats sleeping together, fire and brimstone? Honestly, I'm not sure what you mean. I have two lockboxes at my bank myself.

Most new "numismatists" think coin collecting is all about looking through a handful of pocket change with a gazillion power microscope to find an anomaly the size of a particle of dust and getting rich.

Then so be it. If they're into dust particles thar's their business.

Fear not my friend, America is entering a Golden Age of new numismatists! It'll be Huuuuge!

If the concern is related to new numismatists, they are still coming into the fold. Most I know do not worry much with forums. The numismatic community is quite active on Instagram, Reddit and Discord.

Speaking from experience: They think the same way in the stock market. They buy on hype, sell on fear. LOL. Meanwhile I took my stimulus checks in 2020 and rolled it into a stock that took off and sold when it hit peak. Made 18 grand, paid the remainder of my student loan off, the last two balances of my credit cards, and had some left over. That same stock hasn't been anywhere near my selling price since.
I've seen the ETF VOO go from $350~ to where it's at now too, so what's that tell ya :p

Read the fine print on the safety deposit box contact.
Your goods probably aren't any safer there than a good safe at home.
