I'm hoping that someone with contacts at PCGS has reported this. PCGS takes cases of counterfeited slabs quite seriously, and pursues them. The counterfeit slab actually looks pretty decent (much better than the coin). Am I allowed to say that this is a counterfeit, and the person who made it is a counterfeiter? I'm not sure. But I will anyways.
Heck, I'd put in a bid just to have it if the postage wasn't about 3,200 times what I think it's worth. I guess the 2009 auction catalog the original was shown in has made it overseas . . . or at least to "California."
Without even listening I bet you are referring to the Alibaba and the 40 thieves chorus. Love me some Licensed to Ill
like I said in the other thread, scheduled a fist fight and get it over with. Dont pollute other threads please.
Can we agree that this is a counterfeit? It was thus made by a counterfeiter. Some refuse to make that leap. I'm not polluting a thread. I'm merely pointing out the obvious.
It can be hard doing something you love, and I envy that. I like poker and fishing, neither have made me much money. Leave him alone....
Leave whom alone? The OP? I'm commending him for recognizing and outing a fake. I will not and cannot leave the seller and fabricator of this lie alone - they aren't "doing what they love" - they're preying upon the innocent and committing fraudulent crimes.
What are you talking about Amos? Have you been sippin the sauce? Who's hijacking anything? The B-Boys are awesome!
Let's hope eBay does the right thing and it kills the listing and the seller's ability to sell coins on eBay.
It's a throwaway account. Killing them is like swatting flies while ignoring the pile of rotting food in the trash bin.
The seller has ZERO feedback, so I'm guessing his eBay account was minted right around the time the "coin" was made. This is certainly an instance of the "slab" trying to add value to the "coin". (Although from the photo it does look better than an MS64. I guess he didn't want to spend the money for a re-grade. Yes, poor attempt at sarcasm.)
Oh. Nevermind. I guess Jason is the culprit. I have him on ignore and didn't realize what was going on
Ooh, I'm so scared! Let 'em come. I've never called someone a counterfeiter without being completely convinced and sure that they are breaking the law. I think we both know that ain't gonna happen..... I am really sorry to hear this. I know that we had a recent unpleasantness in that other thread, but I am sorry for that. I have not ignored you, however, so I may still reply to your posts.... and hilarity will ensue, I'm sure.
Well, I'm not sorry for me. It makes absolutely no difference to me. However, I feel like the boards (and the internet at large) are best served when we all communicate and share ideas at our maximum efficiency. There are certain times when I'll put members on ignore, but I usually have a strong reason to do this (a repeated series of threads or posts where they display blatant ignorance or unwillingness to learn, or they're just trollin' so hard there ain't nothin' gonna fix that ****) But hey, that's my opinion - others will vary. I can only assume the Cascade had a strong reason to do it, and I respect his decision.
