I am here for your expert opinion as you already know and I am just learning. It has a simi-circle line that looks like a crack, but might have been struck off center, I think and you can also see this on the reverse. The coin also has like a redish, pinkish, bluish, purplish tones to the it. What do you think? Thank you all in advance for all your help, I sincerely appreciate it. That is a ridge ring. It is die deterioration and not an error.
You can stop saying No MM, the coin was struck at the Philadelphia mint

Minted by a worn die. As stated, it’s known as a ridge ring.

Except for 2017, there is never a mintmark for Philadelphia on cents, nor for any other US coin pre-1980 minted in Philadelphia. That is because, when the mint was first established, there was only one and therefore no need to distinguish between other mints. When branch mints were established, they were given mint marks, which were originally applied to each die at the branch mint. I have no idea why they started using P in 1980. Anyway, the "No Mintmark" designation is unnecessary, unless for issues like the 1982 dime where the intended mintmark was left off. Just say, "1988 cent."
