Seller has this listed as an Arabic Coin, asking way too much but I think it's fake anyways! Has more than 10 for sale and to me he looks like a noob learning the ropes on how to sell fake gold coins, what you think? https://www.ebay.com/itm/4054405742...-b4a9-72a252512918|iid:1|vlpname:vlp_homepage
I could not possibly judge a fake from the picture, but possibly the seller knows it to be an Arabic fake? Much scarcer than the common Chinese fake, hence the higher price.
The coin in the images does not look counterfeit to me, but the "more than 10" indicates to me that you receive a fake instead and the images are copied from elsewhere. Contact the seller and see if their response seems shady I guess, if it's worth the effort. No one in their right mind spends that much on a 0 feedback seller with only one item listed. I also seem to see a lot of these types of listings out of Ft Lauderdale.
The dragon head looks a little off is all, could be real just the listing made me think it could be fake as he list it as an Arabic coin and he has more than 10 to sell. I would think if someone really has more than 10 to sell, they should know it's a British gold sovereign!
Yeah. I have no advice for the orginal poster. I have 34 of this era's British era sovereigns that I inherited. I have no idea. Coin dealers as a rule in the states have ZERO idea about their grade or worth here, they get ZERO respect, and it is a great source of irritation to me. Gold is gold, but these coins that have uncirculated condition are are worth a whole lot more across the great pond. US dealers are just not used to understanding them nor accessing their worth.
