I just got this set with the descriptions in Spanish and possibly issued in Panama in 1982. I had previously posted a 1983 Proof Set with Spanish inserts and language. These presentations are quite rare in my experience, but are relatively more common and especially with the gold issues in the 20, 50, 100 and 150 Balboa sizes. I will try to post some of them later. This set did not come with the COA or the description card the way the 1983 set did. If any readers can send pictures of their similar sets, please do. I will post the 1983 set and then try to post the recent 1982 set: 1983 Spanish Version Panama Proof Set by 7Jags posted Nov 26, 2017 at 4:44 PM 1983 Spanish Version Panama Proof Set by 7Jags posted Nov 26, 2017 at 4:44 PM And Spanish Info Paper by 7Jags
Juego de preuba - Proof Set Anuñadas - Made or minted I can translate all of it but it would take some time
Ah thanks Paddy. I really had to laugh at myself for getting it as the only difference from the usual sets with English labels and descriptions is the packaging. As a side note, quite a large percentage of the 1982 sets came with an "error" on the fineness of the 5 Balboa which should be "Ley 0.500" but instead evidently utilised the fineness "Ley 0.925". In my experience the sort of error mule reverse is not all that much scarcer than the ordinary piece. An informal survey would be about 30-40% of the sets come with the muled reverse on this 5 Balboas. If I haven't lost the interest of the reader, I am still looking for the packaging variant of the 1984 set with only 8 coins in it and was issued that way without the 20 Balboa. It is listed in Krause in additional to the usual 9 coin set. So for the Panama sets 1975 through 1984 the Franklin Mint according to Krause issued both the 8 coin sets and 9 coin sets. The 1985 sets came only in the 8 coin format even though a proof 20 Balboa was made for 1985.
If you've got Google Translate on your phone, you can just point your camera at the text and it'll give what appears to be a clear translation. (I don't speak Spanish, so I can't vouch for its accuracy, but I find that with Chinese text the app seems to do a better job than the translators the Chinese companies hire to do their manuals!)
OK, not bad and got: "Republic of Panama Test Game" - i.e Republic of Panama Proof Set "Minted in (at) Franklin Mint"
