Alright I need to stop for a little bit before I get myself into trouble lol, but hey @Barney McRae, check out what I got with the refund money on those Peace Dollars (cost me a little more on top of that too, but worth it.) best F-15 example of a 1912-S key date V Nickel I could find.

I don't collect or know anything about nickels but I'm glad you got your money back from those Peace Dollars. They should be banned from selling for false advertising. Clearly those stock photos were a farce. But now you know what to steer clear of. Good for you bro!

There’s a lot of other sellers that should be banned/have their IPs banned to prevent them from creating new accounts especially with all the Chinese/other scam accounts being created). But they only minted 238,000 in San Francisco during their last year so they get pricey super fast after F15 (and I’m not spending 5$ AGE money on a v nickel).
But thanks bud, my collections building up slowly but surely with a decent start :)

No doubt, it's disgusting. China is the biggest culprit. Most of us have given up reporting them, their AI ignores us. Unless you know someone high up the food chain there, it's wasted time reporting them. And they are selling a lot of fakes.

I'm going to bid on a graded coin this week, it is legit because I checked it out and it crosses with the grading information, and the photos match......but everyone is afraid of bidding on it. But I am going to, because I want to prove to eBay they need to screen sellers before allowing them to sell online. I know the seller is a crook just based on their other listings. It's ridiculous. I'll get a refund so I'm not worried about it. I'll explain this in a couple of days after it goes down. lol

Why are they afraid of bidding on it? Is it cleaned and the listing doesn't mention it

No. It was a 1921 PCGS MS66 coin. The seller was a scammer. Stole a photo of another seller's coin. Another bidder won it and then lowered the boom on the seller. The seller messaged me later and said "it was a stock photo". You really can't make this kind of stuff up!! lol. Glad I didn't win it. I would have gotten reimbursed by eBay but was saved the hassle. Eesh.

Its was a good day today. Started out a bit cold especially for north Florida. Up early and headed out to a semi-local coin show. Got there just as the doors opened and started making the rounds, greeting friends and acquaintances and on the hunt. As I came down the aisle I spotted something. Could it be? It was! I had spotted an elusive 'White Whale'. Oh my gosh could it be? I struck up a conversation, chatted cordially, sparred a bit and struck the deal. I had the White Whale. And I can say with pride and much satisfaction my Peace Dollar set is now complete with the inclusion of the 1928 shown here. Its been a good day. 20250222_145540.jpg 20250222_145441.jpg

Nice get Millard! I'm north Fl, near Jax Beach and the Gulf of "America", between both places depending on which day you ask me. Where are you? The reason I ask, are you a member of the Jax Coin Club?

better a few days than what we could get in Virginia, anywhere from Nov to Mid April. At one point in my career one of my duties included organizing and managing snow removal plans/crews. I developed a long-term hate relationship with snow. One year we spread so much salt and sand the public works people tried to charge us for cleaning out the storm drains in the spring.:D

kinda like herding cats. You have no control over it, you don't know how long you'll be at it, and no matter how well you perform the task the Boss thinks it's not good enough, and its guaranteed you'll go over budget.

Yeah I went on a bit of a spending spree the past month or two (the 1912-S V Nickel added a nice chunk to that) and have to slow down for quite a bit. Nothing crazy but I did just buy this from my birth year.
