I've got a dealer friend over in Beijing who can help on the quarters and the 94-S dime. Might even give a group discount.

Yeah, I had a bit of a Santa Claus moment when I learned the truth about the 1913 Liberty nickels. "But there's a space for it in my folder with a removable plug! Just like the one for the 1916-D dime or the 1909-S VDB cent!" The 1894-S dimes -- they made more than the 1913 Liberty nickels, but they're still not 100% legit.

Yeah, I have the 1916-D and the 1909-SVDB. I also paid $2,200 for my 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter Type I. But those I can save up for a couple of months to get, the 1913 Liberty Nickel and 1894-S Dime, will not happen unless I hit the lottery. But then again, I have to play to win. Which means I have to spend coin money on tickets...

Your reasoning is flawless. Or at least it better be, because it echoes mine.

The only problem there is that you can have all the money in the world, but you still have to wait for somebody to sell one.

I'm saving everything I make from selling for something really special. Not sure what that will be.

Try Steinberg’s Inc. That’s where I found mine.

I'm boring. I'm on the lookout for an 1875-CC half. Then I can start working on 1875-CC gold.

Wow! I didn’t know they are now putting a plug in the 1909-S-VDB hole. That coin is expensive, but it’s very doable. There is nothing rare about it. I guess they figure you should buy a certified one if you get it. That is sound advice. Ditto for the 1916-D Mercury.

A very long "now" - I probably got that Whitman folder somewhere around 1970.

I received one of those folders at Christmas 1959, and hole was still open. The only closed holes I remember were for the 1913 Nickel, 1894-S Dime and 1856 Flying Eagle Cent. The 1856 cent is the least rare of the three by a wide margin, but it’s always been expensive.

Well, now I'm going to have to go and excavate the childhood collection! I thought I remembered a plug for the S VDB, but maybe I'm mistaken.

Condor’s slab book. I would love to thumb through it but haven’t seen one for sale. So….on my radar screen :)
