It may have come from a senior citizen. Social Security isn't deposited until the 3rd of the month for most retirees, and they may have been short of cash.

I have gotten SC's very occasionally, haven't heard of anyone finding a North Africa issue though - yeah that is a lot lot more exciting because of the special issue and association with the war effort.

That looks to be in really good condition. I'm guessing it was either stolen from daddy's collection, or someone purposely salted it in order to get someone excited about the hobby. I know I do that with old buffernicks occassionally.

Some dealers give dirty, ratty "blue seal" bills out at major shows. I received three back in change last year at FUN. I gave them to YN's as tips.

    Nice catch!!!

I once had a young couple come in with a strange "penny" they got back as change for a coffee at the local convenience store.

    It was a 1925 D $2 1/2 Indian!!!!

Tommy, I believe you're old enough to remember when McDonald's advertising slogan was "Lunch and Change for Your Dollar."

I do recall "someone" is sending me something. I sent that "someone" something as a thank you.;)

Yep and I recall a dollar menu also. Now it's a value menu. I finally got some value.;) And I have to say thank you to all those kids who thought Mc'D's was a career choice.:dead: I remember my Mom getting coupons in her coffee cans for a free meal. "Real" hamburgs .18 cents, fries .15 cents and milkshake .20 cents.
