I originally thought this was a Ron Landis but I can't find a match. Does anyone have any Idea who made this one?
I could be wrong but maybe it's AI generated, if a human made it they're really good, the dates have me puzzled!
At this show I got to see a 21D Zerbe, in a soap box slab. Very cool coin! https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/1921-1-zerbe-special-strike/7341
This is not a real hobo nickel... this is an overstruck die creation, similar to the dan carr abominations. Very clearly, this was some sort of invention struck over a 1943S silver war nickel. This was not carved like any real hobo nickel.
Yes, and figured before I bought it, still doesn't change the question of who made it. You do know what they say about opinions right?
I would say that it is die struck over a 1943-S war nickel. There is lots of undertype from the host coin. This is a modern fabrication. It only relationship to a real hobo nickel is its reproductive status.
Nope not a DCarr. It's not in the Moonlight Mint data base. I should have asked Dan if he knew who made it at the show on friday. Yes, there is no doubt that it is a die struck token. What I find odd is that most of these type of tokens have a makers mark or initials.
I will, I have some more artists to go thru on the OHNS website. I may have to contact them to see if they know.
I struck tokens for the OHNS from 2014 to 2018. But this is not one of them. I do not know who made this one. I do agree that it is definitely die-struck over a normal 1943-S 5-Cents coin.
