I acquired these two GSA Morgans (along with 4 others) in a recent estate purchase. They are both better dates and beautiful in their own right. The 1881 is very nice and has one of the cleanest reverses I’ve seen on a mint hoard Morgan. Almost no bag chatter. The 1885 is built a little different. I think it’s a clear candidate for a DMPL designation. Under a loupe the surfaces are mirrors. I would love to know folks thoughts on grade. It’s tough to photograph such coins well given that they are encased. I did my best .

    I think they're both 62/63.

It’s brilliant for sure. Just tough to get lighting right on such a lustrous coin.

That 85' looks promising. I think the 81' just misses PL

Very nice for both, that '85 is awesome.

Are the tiny marks on the holder?

You did well. I don’t see a DMPL on them. Not sure about a PL from the photos but one of them is close.
