My coin and the piece in the OP appear to be about in the same grade. The OP seems to lack crispness. Therefore, I don't think that it is genuine. You would be surprised at the quality of the best fakes that came on the market in the early to mid 1960s. This half dollar made its way through a Stacks' auction back then. It was discovered to be bad when it was sent to PCGS.
Thanks to all who responded. I’ll be back over to reexamine it. Magnet, scale and closeups of some parts including the edge On the bright side, they’re quite wealthy so just a ripple on their ocean.
There seems to be a mushiness to the devices, the clouds stand out as being extremely weak for the grade.
Yea, the Chinese learned long ago that their products had to be immune from magnets. I could be dreaming, but I think I see the faintest mark of the vampire on this piece. Here is an example of the fake coin vampire.
I'm getting old now. I've had plenty of bright shiny objects. Many. A lot of times she was fake, but I still enjoyed them.
