I just picked up my first 1878 8TF Morgan Today. Found it at a local Pawn Shop and the price was perfect for me. It took me a while to VAM it, I so wanted it to be a VAM-9 but alas I attributed it as a VAM-14.1a.
Did the pawn shop have a worker who happens to know just about everyone who knows anything about everything? Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
Yeah, I was hoping it was a 9A as well when I was VAMming it from your under $50 post but 14.1A it is. Nice scoop for $30. I'll say it again, I would buy everyone I come across like this for $30 in a heart beat.
In general, I feel every Morgan is worth $ 30 minimum. Maybe a cull, basket case is less, but if I am holding for investment or grandkids, its like land, ...they aint making any more of them.
Tell that to China Justin's coin is the most common 8tf vam but for $30 who cares lol. Now, if that die pair wasn't clashed you would have one of the most rare 8tf coins. Go figure huh
You should be able to find "minimal" Morgans for well under $30, but any 8TF is "buy me now in any grade" at that price.
That's exactly what I thought. They had it marked at $34.00, but I alway's have to ask if that's their best price. LOL. Worst that can happen is they say "We can't go any lower". But 9 times out of 10 I get a lower price.
You mean 9 times out of 10 you get the price they want to sell it to you for before they priced it up so you'd think you got a deal.
Yeah. The 14.1 is an evil mimic of the v9. A lot of people cherrypick a 14.1 thinking it's a v9. Still nice for the price. I'd take an unclashed 14.1 instead of a v9 any day though.
LOL. No, I would have had a great deal at their original asking price. But being that I knew more than they did, they "Think" they got all the money they could have out of me. That's they way I like to keep it.
That's so weird.. I was trying to quote your post that had said something about your last purchase was a Morgan as well.
Haha. I deleted that. It was ment for the last purchase thread above but my phone clicked on this thread. Lol. Funny that it quoted the revision instead of the original if you were quoting the original
