I got coin holders for all of my nickels on the way as well (along with some other fun stuff) but this is officially my nicest/best condition V Nickel. (By the way if anyone can give me any recommendations in a separate conversation on software to clarify/sharpen the picture/making the text and really fine detail pop without overexposing or losing quality, I'd highly appreciate it.)

She is lovely; are those die cracks around the stars and legend?

I believe so, that's why I'm looking into a way I can make the finer details like that pop in the picture. I'm in love with it

Is the old lady graded. At least a MS65! thumb.gif No??

Excellent choice from what's out there in the raw. Myself, I'll pay a slight premium over for die cracks so long as they're within my target range of AU-MS for the series. I'd call it an MS64-65.

Nice. As to software, I would recommend you play around with Lunapic and familiarize yourself with it. Of course you'll need better resolution photos to begin with. Those look a bit grainy.

Very nice. I think the 1883 w/o cents was held by many in its near uncirculated state. My aunt gave me one in 1948. It is in similar condition but is victim of a weak strike.

Not yet, but she's definitely one of the ones that are getting graded :D

I think i did pay a little more than what I typically would for these, but she turned out to be well worth it. I was so focused on and excited about the overall shine, I didn't even notice the die cracks.

I'll look into it! I actually just bought a digital loupe I'll be trying out today as well so I'm looking forward to that

For no special reason at all, except because you’re an enthusiast and because I think it’s pretty, here is my nicest Liberty nickel.

It just seemed like a good excuse to post it. :)

Holy crap that's gorgeous! I encapsulated mine just now and noticed there was a die crack on the reverse as well by the "S" in the "E PLURIBUS UNUM" motto. I did use LunaPic this time, didn't want to sharpen it too much or it'd get too grainy

This new digital loupe captures the imperfections/details incredibly well. Found 2 very small spots of wear I didn't see before, and you can see the die crack goes all the way through the "UNUM" Snap_001.jpg Snap_002.jpg Snap_003.jpg Snap_004.jpg Snap_005.jpg Snap_006.jpg Snap_007.jpg IMG00002.jpg
