I ordered 4 boxes of halves for next week. I hope they arrive on schedule despite the holiday Monday because I won't be in that town to pick them up if they don't arrive on schedule! The bank assured me they'll simply ship-out the boxes if I don't pick them up, but I'd rather not put them to the trouble.

I may have other half boxes to pickup in a neighboring town next week, too...could be a busy vacation if all my planned pickups pan out.

    HH and gl all!

Yeah, I'm seeing more and more coins that are damaged by rolling machines these days. That one looks like both sides have spent time at the end of a roll. I hate to say it but every time we dump coins they get re-rolled and more are damaged. I wonder how long it'll be till they're all like that?

3 banks on my way home from work yielded $2 in halves, all Cu-Ni clad, and 1 Ike, a 1971-P.

    Oh well, I'll keep looking!

3rd box of halves for the week:
    1 90% 64
    4 40%ers

Only have one box coming in tomorrow. 4 boxes this week only. Next week I will be on vacation in San Diego hitting teller trays and looking CWR. Curious to see what that area will be like.

Pick up my final boxes for the 2016 search season.

First part of the week were all skunks, last half of the week, two boxes on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Ended the year not being skunked, even to the last roll I opened.
    22-40s, 1-Franklin, 1-1991s, 1-2011 Panama half (someone drilled the 1968, Serenity now!)

About average in the last six boxes, 3.83 silvers per box. Last box boasted the average, 14 silvers in the last box, other five produced only 8. Add the skunk boxes early in the week and average was dismal, 2.2 silver per box. UGH!
    3.6 ounces total for week.

Merry Christmas to all! (Happy Festivus to Seinfeld fans)

    See you in 2017.

Haven't been hunting as much lately, as I haven't been home much. But I did some rolls here and there and managed to get through a box of BWR Nickels and another $20 in CWR Nickels. Didn't keep them out, so I don't have totals for you, but I did photograph the 3 best finds for you guys.

In the box, I found this:

And in the CWRs I found a really nice 40 and filled a slot with my first 43-D! :)

Truble, over the years I've averaged less than 1 silver per box of halves...based on my experience, you're killing it!

Just came across this, for some reason I no longer get notified about updates to this thread.

I think you've hit the nail on the head here. One of the things that was drilled into me in all those college psychology classes was this: if you want your lab rat to keep pounding on the button night and day, deliver him a food pellet every once in a while when he hits the button -- not every time, and not on a schedule, but randomly.

Humans are a lot more complex than rats, but not when it comes to this. Thus, we have Las Vegas, lotteries, and CRHers. :)

Try rubbing alcohol or acetone. Alcohol typically works on permanent marker, acetone on everything else.

Btw acetone and fingernail polish remover are the same thing, so look for fingernail polish remover in the store.

Please don't. Nail polish remover contains additives, some of which may be harmful to your coin. Get plain old acetone at the hardware store.

Nail polish remover is mostly acetone, in the same way that pee is mostly water. But you wouldn't want to soak your coins in either one.

So my girlfriend and I went hunting in San Diego. We hit several banks for loose halves. Got $300 in CWR nothing. $30 in loose halves heavily tagged and nothing. Finally we each got a box of halves and each got 1 40%er. The lame part was we had to re-roll all of them and take them back. Not a successful venture. We're done CRH and are just going to enjoy the rest of our vacation.

    B, better than a skunkola!

I'm picking up 6 boxes of halves tomorrow while on vacation, so I'll give a full report in a few days.

Btw I'll also reroll the coins, so I'm in the same boat. On the bright side, I believe when a bank requires rerolling it discourages high volume competition, which is a good thing.

    HH all!
