Hello all! I want to thank all of you that helped me out on some of the past threads. Now I'm looking for just a few more to get started in 2025! I've been doing these daily threads for some time now and as of late, finding it difficult to come up with new ideas. If anyone has more ideas and wants these threads to be more frequent, then please offer some help. Thank You. Just thought of a new one! "Thankful Thursday!" Coins that you're thankful for whatever reason. Okay, back to work for me! ( Or Cat and Mouse Monday)
Not sure if you've done any of these yet, but here's a few ideas: Misprint Monday Modern Monday - 21st century coinage Monarch Monday Mismatched Monday - for double denominations Tiny Tuesday - small coinage Toned Tuesday World War Wednesday - coinage from the WW1 or WW2 periods Wooden Nickel Wednesday Worn Coin Wednesday Three-Legged Thursday Thaler Thursday Type Set Thursday Foreign Friday Frosty Finish Friday Floral Friday - coins featuring flora Shipwreck Saturday Scarce Saturday Scriptural Sunday - coinage from, or featuring events from, scriptural references
If you ever run out of ideas, you could always throw the name a country or civilization out there, be it Irish or Canadian or British or Roman or whatever. Of course there are an infinite number of other themes without even going that far. Non-round coins... critters on coins... ships... etc. The challenge is making the alliteration work, so that the first letter of your theme matches the first letter of the day of the week. @Abramthegreat had some good suggestions along that line.
White Whale Wednesday. The Great White Whale that has eluded you for so long. If you have finally harpooned that sucker, post pics. If not describe it and tell us why it's so hard to find--that'll be me.
Two-fer Tuesday - two coins that are the same but different. I can think of tons of coins with the same year and denomination but different types. Maybe you already did something like that.
Certain coins with dates Like Lincoln Cent from 1809-1929. Then 1930-1940. 1940-1958. That can be done with almost every type of US minted coin. Pre, Posr and Colonial coins, each as a separate thread so there’s three. Coins that only grade good or fine or AU as an example.
With this theme would you include coins, tokens, and/or medals that flew in space or contain metal that was flown in space?
Trickel Tuesday (or Thursday) Trime Time (any day of the week) Franklin Friday Filipino Friday Mexican Monday Whatever Wednesday (any coins) Toners Tuesday (or Thursday) Personally, I thoroughly enjoy your daily topics and find them fun and engaging, so thank you for your diligence in keeping them going! I'll see if I can think of some other potential ideas, but these seem like a good start.
Sci-Fi Saturday Saintly Sunday - lots of world coins with Saints on them (counter) marked Monday Frightening Friday
Ring, Ring? Anyone home. I may use your Sci-Fi Saturday. How would you present it if it were you doing it?
For me, it would be anything make believe. The first thing that comes to mind is my silly Star Wars related stuff. But heck anything not real, like say a winged elephant.
