Merry Christmas everyone! Here is my newest edition to my ancient coin collection courtesy of my awesome parents. The inscriptions are pretty worn but the description that came with it lists it as a late Roman bronze. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you Bing you are the best! That gives me enough to go searching on Wildwinds. It's a pretty worn example but I still love it.
http://esty.ancients.info/ricix/type5i.html The above page shows the options. Check it out and see if you agree with Bing. Unfortunately your coin lost its mint mark to the small flan (not uncommon with these) but you have enough legend to narrow it down to two rulers and should be able to tell which from the portrait.
Thanks for the link Doug. It looks to me like based on the description that Valentinian I is distinguished from Valentinian II by the fuller heavier face portrait. I would have to say mine falls into the Valentinian I type with a Gloria Romanorvm reverse. Many thanks to @Bing and @dougsmit for the help. This forum is an amazing resource.
