Here's yet another coin for my classic commemorative half dollar set, Rhode Island. What a beauty. It has a very simple style with some strong cartoon vibes, but there is beauty in its simplicity. This one has some nice edge toning, the edges and rim areas leaning towards reddish to darker hues, but still offers plenty of bright luster filled surfaces.

Nice toned commemorative coin. Bring it on by "Toner Tuesday". ;)

You really do have a nice coin there. I can see where the subtle toning shows on the edges but it probably needs to be examined in-hand to appreciate it more fully. A great piece.

Yes, it's one of those where it looks a little more toned and colorful to the eye than in photographs. Still, not a rainbow beauty by any means as the toning is confined to the edges and rims, and a tiny bit in the fields....but it's a beauty.

I’m sure you know story but the release of these in 1936 was really crooked. A true Rhode Island story.

There was a lot of shenanigans around the 1936 through 1938 releases. And I can't say I blame Congress for deciding they had enough of commemoratives for a few decades. Frankly, I wish the mint was more selective about modern commemoratives, but that's never going to happen.
