I was beginning to wonder where the goodies were hung up. Thanks for the update, Randy!

Weird, Randy. The USPS seems to have it in for you, somehow!

Hey, hey, hey, my Round 11 Prize arrived today!!! Thanks to @Randy Abercrombie and @lordmarcovan for hosting this awesome contest!

Not only did I receive the prize, a lovely 1896 Morgan Dollar, but Randy also accidentally dropped in an 1848 Braided Hair Large Cent (if only it could talk, and tell me all the things it has been through!), a Round Tuit (so I am reminded to get around to it!), and an Anonymous Follis Byzantine Class B (which I know absolutely NOTHING about, but am anxious to research!)!!! A little after Christmas, but made for a great start to the new year!

Sorry about the terrible pics, but I don't have my Copy Stand and camera set up (in the process of reorganizing my hobby workspace), so I just quickly shot these pics with my phone.

    Thanks again!!!

Knowing Randy, I highly doubt that addition was accidental. The Morgan looks better in your pictures than it did in his!

    Thanks for the update. :)

Package arrived today and, man, I do love these coins. Along with the two Tatanka nickels and mercury dime were a Mexican peso, an anonymous follis, and one of Randy’s famous ‘round tuit’s! What a fabulous surprise the extra goodies were!

Rob and Randy, you guys went above and beyond with this Coinmas giveaway!

Cool, Beautiful coin! I've Two right now thanks to @hotwheelsearl when I first joined here and from a contest earlier in the year that are bronze, I believe. I'll have to do a thread on Ancient coins sometime. ;)

    Hooray!

That just leaves us to hear from @INDE1977 (Round 8), and @mrbadexample (Round 9 & 10). And of course those last two are traveling across the Atlantic. Perhaps they have already landed on Britannia's shores.

Asking this question here so others that received a similar coin might see it...

Should the description read "Romanus III / Michael IV" instead of "Romanus III / Michael V"?

CC you may be right. My reference stuff is on my laptop at work but I’ll sure check that in the morning….. I was so impressed with myself for figuring out how to do decent looking inserts that I may not have double checked the info I put on them.

@CoinCorgi you are 100% correct. Now I gotta add dyslexia to my ever expanding list of old age maladies!

Thanks Randy! Now I know more than I've ever cared to about non-modern coins.

Turns out Michael IV is quite a d-bag.

Now that I been studying on a lot of these old Roman era emperors of late, seems that being a d-bag was part of the job description!
