@Matthew Peak If it was a broadstrike, clash or misaligned die, how can you explain the fact that "7991" was impressed on a 2000-D coin? Chris
I was also looking at the rim of the coin to see which category it might fall into (misaligned or broad struck). And as far as the impressions go, it looks like someone would have had to of "viced" this cent, several times from several different angles....on the obverse and reverse.
The incuse part from paddyman makes sense. Thanks everyone for the input. Do you think the vice job caused the off centered look of the coin?
