Land Fish?

    This coins from is from Savatra, Lycaonia - not a place known for lush agriculture and beautiful lakes and rivers - so what is going on with this fish and water god on the reverse of this coin from Antoninus Pius (r. AD 138-161)? Perhaps this is a land fish? Scientists in Australia found walking sharks that could walk and survive a short time out of water...see: Marine and Freshwater Research 71(9) 1107-1117 https://doi.org/10.1071/MF19163

    This area around Savatra is known for hypersalinated lakes : as seen in this photo of Lake Tatta (modern Lake Tuz) - a crusty salt lake (photo from 2017 via Wikimedia Commons).
