I hope no one is OCD around here! I posted them in the order I photographed them. Some pictures were abysmal, so I had to go back and try them over again. I still feel the depiction of luster is very difficult to convey with a still photo. These are even more vibrant than they appear. But I am keeping the settings constant so the color differences are not an artifact of the camera settings.
On to 1933. Having two 33's lets me turn one over in the display, so I see the front of the first one and the reverse of the second one. It's nice to show the backs once in a while.
1934 was the first year to introduce the long-tailed 3 that matched the style of the 9 and 6. Apparently this was always the intended typeface for the numerals. I happen to like the proportions of the rounded 3's - like on the 1933's in post #4056. Since the second 1934 is a bit spotty on the front, but beautiful on the back, it is also shown in the display tray with the reverse up. I purchased the top coin for 12.80. The other two mark the beginning of the 1934-1991 set I bought in a Dansco, so I figure them for $1.25 each. I'm glad I'm able to appreciate the original collector's efforts, and that the set he so carefully put together was able to find a good home. Here's part of the set. I had already moved the other 160 coins into holders and these were waiting for more holders to arrive. I'll post pictures of these soon, I imagine.
