As beat up as it is, it's probably a 1958-D. There is one known 1959-D wheat cent, which known forger Mark Hofmann claimed to have made, but nobody will either disclaim it as a forgery, or certify it as genuine.
Here is an article on the 1959-D wheat back: (interesting read) http://www.pcgs.com/news/the-mystery-of-the-1959-d-mule-lincoln-cent
If they were never made. You can't make a copy. If you did make one, you would not have to put copy on it. That is what the great debate is all about. And if the OP's coin was one, it no longer is.
Come on guys...do we have to have this argument in every thread. As for the ops coin, it looks like a 53 or 58 with PMD. I personally don't believe the infamous 59-D is authentic.
I sincerely hope this isn't a genuine 1959 Wheat - not that I think it is - because the damage is so severe no respectable numismatic authority would ever verify it. With the largest gouge on the whole face being right through the middle of the most important digit, there's no way to ever know for sure.
It's just I happened to have noticed it's the same OP who started this thread and started that thread. And then I thought to myself, "Now there's a coincidence."
I would think it is a 1950-D only because of the different way a 3, 8, 9 and 0 look. a left side hit on any of these you would still see were the top half of the 3 and 8 are connected to the bottom half, and a 0 and 9 you only see a nice curved line top to bottom, on the right side.
