Today I bought two firsts. These are not specifically rje first coin of that type I have owned, but more along the lines of the first coin from that company I have owned. Got these both for $5 each. First is a 2006-P nickel, in a CAC sample slab. I have not possessed a CAC graded coin until now. Still haven't gotten a CAC stickered coin, but at least I got the green bean, LOL! Nice toning to the left of Jefferson is a weird anomaly about this. Generally that kind of toning is seen on the satin coins from 2005-10, and this has no satin finish. Second is the first graded banknote I have ever owned, in over 2 years of collecting. I don't know what it's worth, but there are 2 coin shops near me, the 2 I deal with, that can offer me a deal!
I have a couple of rolls of those. Nice CACG sample. This one is a mid die stage. It has brilliance but also has that satiny die stage.
Brilliance and satiny? I wonder if that was for a regular strike or for a satin finish. Star Trek tie-ins? I didn't realize that was on there either! I am not very familiar with Star Trek, which is mainly why. I'll remember that next time I come across one of these.
Five bucks apiece? Can't lose there. Cool pickups. The toning on that Jefferson is nice, and the reverse vignette on the Colombian banknote is interesting.
I was. I'm very, very bad at faces, so show me two people in fancy period costumes, both dark-haired guys with sideburns, and they'll likely look like the same person to me.
I'm just amazed that you could not only remember that Star Trek character, but dig up an image from the episode.
I was a big Star Trek fan as a kid. Back then, things stuck in my head a lot more tenaciously than they do now. As for "dig up an image from the episode", that's all Google, not me.
