Funny, but I was thinking of starting a thread titled, 'A lookback at My purchases of 2024' but I like your thread title better Pickin'. When I look back at what I've purchased this past year I'm aghast at the amount of money I've laid out over this period of time. The two gold modern commems really put a dent in my collecting budget and some would hasten to say that I spent way more on them than I should have. And they're not even among my top five or ten for the year. With all that said, here are three of the many favorites I've purchased this past year.
I love that Boone @green18 I bought one over the past year, but it is blast white. Toned is more of my choice on commems and classics.
Yeah, I've been quite head-over-heels for Boones this year as I scramble, with no particular haste, to assemble a complete date and mint mark set. I'm a little over 50% there with another one in my site (possibly) this evening.

It looks UNC great token! That Fugio is awesome but that Formatum kicks butt, and at 41.5g it must feel good holding it in your hands.
Over the course of the year I felt like I was having a slow year, but looking back at my paperwork it turns out that I picked up 10 coins (9 busties and 1 WL) so it was about normal for me. Picking favorites is like picking kids, but here are a few.
A FESTIVUS MIRACLE.A lousy, out of focus, make Flying al cringe picture. I also have an 1847 Seated Dime with Date on base and an 1843/1843 repunched date Seated dime that comprise my 3 favorite coins of the year. james
Favorites? I think these are the only coins I bought this year. All obscure transition varieties, which is what I'm into. Top one is an all time favorite as a gem example of one of my discoveries (1892-1899 reverse type used in 1900).
I am gonna add another favorite purchase. I can only think that this peace was tapped on the bars of a jail cell, to annoy the Sheriff or Marshall. It weighs good!
