Please guess the grade of the 1941-D Jefferson Nickel shown below. I have attached a poll for you to cast your vote and you may select up to 3 different things: the numerical grade, FS or NOT FS, and + grade or star designation. Please don't forget to vote in the poll, and as always, comments welcome.
This one looks nicer than the previous two and the five steps are there, so I went MS 66+ FS ....two things kept me from going MS 67: the scrape under the "TS" of Cents on the reverse and the hit(?) between States and Of on the reverse
Luster is exceptional, I think there are just a few too many luster grazes to get 67. MS66 FS IMO, I think though that it didn't get FS. I did vote in the original that this one was FS.
REVEAL: 1941-D Jefferson Nickel NGC MS66 5FS I had fully expected this coin to get MS67 5FS and was flabbergasted when it came back MS66 5FS. I would have accepted MS66+ 5FS as several of you graded it but to straight grade at 66 is an injustice. As it is, only @eddiespin got this one.
Looks like a 67 all day to me. Only thing I saw distracting was what looked like a fingerprint at 12 o’clock. Assumed it was on the slab which it likely is which is why I gave it 67. I’ve been away from CT not checking as frequently but these GTGs have me logging in checking notifications daily again. Thanks @Lehigh96!
This place has really turned into Sleepy Hollow #2. I spend so much of my time trying to sell stuff that I have not spent enough time here. I have to get back into more GTG threads to spark this place up back up again.
