If that’s the case (and hey, I kinda like the idea), then there’s a regular family reunion of departed relatives in my front yard!

Cardinals are probably the most common avian visitors to our property, aside from the neighbors’ pesky Muscovy ducks, who- like the cardinals- steal the food we put out for our outdoor cats.

Hmm. Apparently my departed relatives have acquired a taste for Nine Lives cat food in the afterlife. Go figure.

I’m in for the shiny Benjamin! Lot better condition than the 1958-d I just found while coin roll hunting today. IMG_3802.jpeg

Yeah, but still… that’s an awesome CRH find! You’re lucky to find half dollar rolls at all.

Heads-up, y’all. For Round 9, I’m gonna depart from my usual practice of doing the drawing in the middle of the night.

For this one, I intend to do an actual daytime drawing (at least by Eastern US time).

So in just a few hours, in other words.

Last call for latecomers. Drawing is coming soon.

Please count me in for this drawing. I don't have any album of Franklin's but I do have them in comfy little capsules and held in a little carrying case. This one looks like a star specimen, so I'll post my Christmas tree topper star in hopes of winning it! That topper has definitely been around a long time, almost certainly longer than that Benji!

You're welcome to post your own thread, but I ask that everybody post a notice of receipt here first- since I link to that information in the round summary in Post #1 (the intro of this thread). It just helps me keep track.

You don't have to post photos if you don't want to, or if you find that difficult. Just let us know- in this thread- that you got the goodies, is all. Thanks.

There's essentially 5 days left until Christmas, and we've got three rounds left to do after this one. So...

TIME FOR THE ROUND 9 DRAWING!

    banner- day 9.png

    Our lucky number was... 360!

    upload_2024-12-19_12-27-37.png

And Post #360 was by... @mrbadexample!

Coingratulations, @mrbadexample! You have won Lot #9.

@Randy Abercrombie will need your shipping address, and I shall message you both shortly.

Randy- there's a little twist here, which entails a tiny bit of added expense and hassle on your end. You see, @mrbadexample is in the UK. This means the package will have to be mailed from the post office, with a customs declaration. If this is too much hassle on you, simply mail it to me, and I will reship it to him and handle all that stuff for you.

@mrbadexample - Please be sure to post to this thread after you have received your prize. We will all be interested to know what your "mystery" prizes were, as well!

    LET ROUND 10 BEGIN!

    banner- day 10.png

    @lordmarcovan gave to thee...

    A Germany (Saarland): 1954 aluminum-bronze 10-franken (PCGS MS66)

    ad9950f3ecbe4684bdca9787853215e1.jpg

    a92f00424c4248d8ba93aea3f814b251.jpg

    Numista-1863, KM-1. PCGS cert. #32021279.

This is a 10-franken piece from the Saar Protectorate, which existed from 1947 to 1956 as a disputed territory separated from Germany by France after the Second World War. In 1957, it was joined to West Germany as the state of Saarland, and is an important industrial and coal mining territory. The obverse of the coin portrays an industrial scene.

This coin is a one-year type and was struck in Paris in an aluminum-bronze alloy. In Gem Mint State condition, it has the original golden color and decent luster, which does not fully show in these very low-quality cellphone photos. Some faint marks visible are in the plastic of the slab, not on the coin.

There will also be some additional "mystery prize" items.

To enter this round, all you need to do is:

    1. Say that you want this lot, and
    2. post something else coin-related or cheerful.

Then, sometime in the next 2-4 days (depending on my schedule), we'll do the drawing and move on to the next round.

You may of course say you want it for someone else, if you name that person.

    Round summary in Post #1.

I have indeed. It's been a lot of work, with a lot of moving parts behind the scenes, but totally worth it. Maybe you and I can team up for it again next year! :)
