2021 ASE with distorted date

    Here are several views of a 2021 ASE. The characters in the date seem to be distorted. In some spots they are enlarged and also have what looks like mechanical doubling. The numbers also seem to run in to the platform above. Can anyone help me understand how this happens?     Looks like mechanical doubling to me. Maybe a little die deterioration? I don't buy ASE's so you will have to look to others for answers.

    Appears machine doubled. There are no significant doubled dies known for Silver Eagles, but that is sure a cool MD coin.

    Thanks for the feedback. There is one ASE DDO that I would consider significant. The Wexler 2011 $1 ASE WDDO-001. I had two but traded one. They were only found in the 2011 Anniversary sets.
    Thanks again. I didn't consider this to be a DDO but was curious about the strike.

    Judging by the looks of the other numbers I would say it’s from a worn die.
