It is my first time doing this and I didn't put down who it was from so I wanted to make sure that person who got my gift wasn't thinking who it was from.
Why is this an issue? And especially one requiring moderator intervention? Isn't the secret thing optional?
Guys, I packed my gift, and it's ready to ship, but I'm just curious. Has scamming ever been an issue with this tradition? I mean has anyone ever not have received their package? It's a nice community? Thanks.
This is my first year with the CT Secret Santa, but I've done them in many different forums over the years and there's always a Grinch or two, sometimes even unintentionally.
Yes, we are not immune, the Grinch has shown up a time or two every year here as well. But I can say that there has also been a few occasions where an extra generous Santa has stepped up and has sent out gifts to someone who didn't receive one. We do our best, but I know that there have been a couple who have received the proverbial lump of coal.
Nobody has ever stated that this "requires" such intervention. I just thought that the first word of the term "Secret Santa" implied that you don't post it this way. @BATTERup646 - Has happened to me. One time Kirk made up for it by giving me a veeery nice present (plus, I got my original SS present later ...), and one time I did not get anything. Could be due to the fact that Europe is a little far away from North America. But in general it works fine. Christian
So much for secrecy huh? I didn't put a name on mine either. But I have tracked it & it got forwarded so if it gets there late it ain't my fault, lol. Sent it last week
^^ Mine's tracked, too. And, aren't past intentional/unresponsive grinches removed from participation?
I got mine out in the mail today. I'm hoping the recipient likes it. I'm going out of country and have a mail hold. I will post my photos when I return. If anyone plans to be in Stuttgart, Germany this Sunday for the Weihnachtsmarkt, let me know!
I'm feeling good this year. On the ancients side, SS gift was received/acknowledged and I've gotten mine. On this one, I haven't gotten anything yet but it's very early and my gift arrived and was acknowledged. (Eager for it to be opened because I think I chose well) This is my third year and I clearly remember the year I got nothing but have no idea what I received the other year.
