Cash register finds today: 1941 & 1946-S Lincoln wheat cents 1995 Canadian cent (already had it, but this was an upgrade!)
2 cash register finds from the 70's! 1974-S proof Jefferson nickel Series 1977A $5 bill (see the paper money forum for the picture)
My first impaired proof was a 1975 S...looked like a basic circulation find. It had to have been in circulation for decades before I found it.
I had to keep myself from saving 1970-S nickels because I started to accumulate too many lol. Last year San Francisco minted any pennies or nickels for general circulation. (I can't speak for dimes and quarters. Do know the last thing they ever minted for circulation was the 1980-S SBA dollar.)
It’s a hard find. Along with the 1960 SD LMC. It seems that it should be possible with volume but a challenging find. Like the 1969 S DDO.
These came from my laundromat change machine. They are both nice looking. This is the 1st 2024 like this I've found. Seen all the other ones I think, unless there's a newer one I don't know about. View attachment 1650879
It isn't; it's the 3rd release of 2024, and was followed by Celia Cruz and Zitkala-Sa. The 4th and 5th seem pretty rare in circulation though.
I have one Celia Cruz from circulation. None of the other 2024 issues. Here's a coin I got this week. Yes, it's only worth face value but I still get a coin geek thrill getting a 60-year-old copper that still shows mint luster
I like that…. Coin geek thrill. With your permission I would like to use that because it totally describes me. I picked up a wheat cent out of the parking lot last week and that was precisely what I felt.
