Much as I want you to be right, I just don't see the RPD... I tried to find a photo of the 47.1 to see how slight it is, but I am pretty sure mine didn't make the cut.

Yeah, but you still retain the required 'Rebel Yell', eh what? :)

In another life I would be known as a 'copper head'.......

To be honest, in 15 years of bartending, not one of the bars where I worked served Rebel Yell.

I'm going to say XF45 on the half cent and AU58 on the nickel.

OK, I'm awake now. Some days you just walk in the door and go to sleep. :)

I think the Half Cent is C-2, although both varieties for the year are pretty common. XF40 (no higher from the reverse leaves; I want to see more of them for 45), lovely surfaces, I'd probably go $100 if I wanted one and (pending a closer look at the cut on the cheek) this coin would be on the short list of examples I'd consider.

The 1910 is nicely struck but not hammered, a little weak at lower left obverse and in the hair. The scratches detract, as does the corrosion spot between the last two stars. I think they called it AU55-58, but myself I think it Mint State although the ceiling is 62 and more likely 61 due to the scratches.

I was actually surprised to the MS63 (@Evan8 well done1) on the Liberty Nickel because of the detracting scratches and corrosion spot. Overall, it is a very attractive coin and I am pretty happy to add it to my Type Set. Edit: the last number on the Liberty Nickel Cert is a 0.

The Half Cent is not the prettiest AU50 (@gronnh20 well done!) but it is a very nice looking half cent and a nice addition to my XF+ type set.

I spent $210 on the pair from the same dealer.

Well done on noting it as MS. I thought these two were very reasonably priced specimens that make good additions to my Type Set.

How is it? I have never had it. I see it in stores all the time, but havent picked up a bottle yet.

Not a steal but probably a fair price for you both, and the dealer seemingly agrees with me on grades. At strict grade pricing, those should be ~$250+ at "fair" retail, especially in PCGS slabs. The scratches on the Nickel will vanish in most lighting, as your slab images indicate.

Agreed, I think we both walked away happy. I could sell them for more than I spent but they meet my Type Set requirements and were much more affordable than some of the others I've seen.

Yeah, I wouldn't have buyers' remorse having spent that money on those. :)

Ken seems to think it's okay, but of course, he'll drink almost anything with alcohol in it.

    Half cent: AU-53

Nickel: AU-58, grading services probably went MS-62 though.

Lol, my guesses were done without seeing the results. After looking I see I was pretty darn close :)

I saw in my alert box that I was tagged, decided I had to check on this thread lol, regardless of how late I was:)

Input is always appreciated, and yes, you came pretty darn close. :) I'm pretty happy with the purchase as they'll go to my US Type Set and if I ever decide to upgrade, I think I can easily get what I paid if not a touch more.

Well, I'm late to the game. I didn't see this one. I'm not an early copper guy, but I'd would have guessed EF-40 on the Half Cent and MS-63 on the V Nickel.

Not bad! I honestly think the Half Cent is closer to XF40 vs AU50 but I'm not complaining!
