Here's a double whammy for you. I picked them both up today at the Annandale show. What do you think their grades are? And for extra credit, how much do you think I paid for them? 1835 Half Cent 1910 Liberty Nickel
Since I was privileged to information while the purchase was being made..... I can't make a guess as I know...the grades as well as the cost. I will say they were purchased way below retail , and I believe that the 1910 is an rpd. There is only one variety known for the 1910 according to the complete guide to Shield &Liberty head nickels,by Peters & Mohon. The 1,9,&1 all show first punch to the N and slightly to the left; second &final punch to south & slightly to the right. PM # 47.1 RPD 001

@ldhair @green18 @ToughCOINS @jwitten I wouldn't mind your opinions either, if you have the time/interest, gentlemen.
AU53 AU55 or Unc Dets - Cleaned, depending on how many more hairlines are on the coin than are evident in the photos.
Strangely enough, I can't see most of those hairlines without the photo. I'll reveal tonight; thanks for your input. I'm always happy to hear what you think a non-dealer would pay for them.
EF-45 AU-58 On the nickel, I'd have to see in-hand before I'd award a details designation. I do not think it is cleaned.
I need to get it in sunlight to look at it but the color does have a nice gentle golden brown color to it. The image isn't too far off from what it looks like.
Why me? I don't collect either series, and I haven't lived in Northern Virginia for more than 40 years. Chris
