My lcs had a nice little collection walk in the door recently. This is my first pick up. A crosslet four no stems variety. I’m very pleased. Next is a 1794 large cent or possibly a fugio cent
Nice pickup. A Fugio is a must have in my opinion. My wife got me mine for my birthday a few years back. As you can see. I need better skills at taking pictures
Half Cents were always my favorite series. At one time I had a decent collection of them, including about a dozen UNC's. When I first saw yours my eye went right to the chin to see if it was a spiked chin variety. No spike but still a very nice coin. Bruce
I used to collect half cents by die variety. Then I hit a wall where the collection could go no further. I knew the collectors who had the rare die varieties I didn’t have. They frequently had more than one example, but they won’t sell their duplicates. I gave up on the collection and sold it. Half cents are often more attractive than their large cent counterparts. The trouble is the series has a lot of dates that are unobtainable for most collectors, which limits their popularity.
