Here's a dime I just picked up. The eye appeal in hand was just too nice to turn down. It has very silky smooth yet flashy luster.

Superb. I see no reason not to consider MS67FB an appropriate grade, although a TPG might not award it FB. Refer them to the PCGS CoinFacts MS68FB plate coin (the blue one) for comparison.

67+ FSB and it took me a while not to say 68!

67 no fsb. I have one with almost the same mark across the middle bands, it didn't get fsb.
    Awesome coin.

I like it at MS67. Regarding Full Bands, I need to know who graded it.

    PCGS: MS67FB
    NGC: MS67

MS66FB (anything over MS64 and it's really just me guessing)

I don't see a mark on it, so I'll say MS67. It might just squeak out FSB.

My guess would be MS 65 FB. I would have graded it higher but it looks like there are hairline scratches in the field on the obverse.

Those are actually die polish lines. They are pretty common on Mercury Dimes. So if you are looking at Mercury Dimes, don't let those scare you off, they are ok. :)

Thanks for the info. It should probably grade higher then. Sometimes my old eyes deceive me

66 Maybe FB...water spot on obv. and tiny rim ding may keep it from a 67?

Is that a "milk spot" below the L on the obverse? If so, would that cause a deduction in the grade?
    Anyway, it's a great looking coin, I'd say MS67FB.

This is a great time to pick up very nice Mercs, Walkers, and Morgans. How low will it go? Who knows? Nice coin, enjoy.

I think this die pair has been freshened up from a die clash event. The bridge of the nose washes out into the field.

Yes, it's getting close to the "Broken Nose" type, which seem to be fairly common in the Mercury Dime series.

I'm going to say it's a MS-66FB if in a PCGS slab and a MS-66 if in an NGC slab.

How are you guys saying FB? There is clearly an obstruction right of center on the middle band line
