Here's a dime I just picked up. The eye appeal in hand was just too nice to turn down. It has very silky smooth yet flashy luster.
Superb. I see no reason not to consider MS67FB an appropriate grade, although a TPG might not award it FB. Refer them to the PCGS CoinFacts MS68FB plate coin (the blue one) for comparison.
67 no fsb. I have one with almost the same mark across the middle bands, it didn't get fsb. Awesome coin.
My guess would be MS 65 FB. I would have graded it higher but it looks like there are hairline scratches in the field on the obverse.
Those are actually die polish lines. They are pretty common on Mercury Dimes. So if you are looking at Mercury Dimes, don't let those scare you off, they are ok.
Is that a "milk spot" below the L on the obverse? If so, would that cause a deduction in the grade? Anyway, it's a great looking coin, I'd say MS67FB.
This is a great time to pick up very nice Mercs, Walkers, and Morgans. How low will it go? Who knows? Nice coin, enjoy.
I think this die pair has been freshened up from a die clash event. The bridge of the nose washes out into the field.
Yes, it's getting close to the "Broken Nose" type, which seem to be fairly common in the Mercury Dime series.
