Is it my imagination, or do these three coins from the current CNG Auction seem like barbarous imitations to you, too?

IMHO I don't think they are barbarous imitations, but they are fascinatingly different than the norm.

No, I dont think they are barbarous at all. While Tom did collect barbarous coins, you may be projecting that on these. I think these are all within the norm.

Yes, and it's confrontational - that's the expression Diocletian seems to have on that coin. It's a very interesting style on the bust.

Yea, I see it now (though I was not aware of the lingo). A clear interpretation of the portrait. I could also put forward "Damn straight", "say what", "you lookin at me", I could go on.

 

my youngest will be 45 his next bday, so, yeah, I have no idea where it comes to new urban lingo. I do understand Ken though. Now that's cool.
