IMHO, yes. Not only will they not want to order for you in the future (they probably got stuck with them), but maybe there were some goodies in there... ?

I used to buy $1000 bags of half dollars. There are still a few banks who bag all the coins that are deposited. I would find anywhere from 1 to 50 in a bag. No different than buying them in rolls.

Bags of loose halves should be better than boxes unless the bags were deposited by another CRHer.

If I was you I'd hurry back and buy the bag!

I deposited $650 in rolled halves on my way home from work tonight. I had found no silver in this batch. The teller had $8.50 in halves in his tray (he told me how much he had because I couldn't see them), so I deposited my $650 in halves and then bought the halves from his tray.

As he was counting out the halves from his tray I heard silver!

This is my first 40% bicentennial from the wild, so I'm happy!

Have to admit Truble I am envious. That haul is what I've gotten in 2 months. On the other hand good job! I'm headed to Dallas/Fort Worth next week on business and will have time to hunt. My last trip to Texas was a success CRH wise, so wish me luck!

Went to the bank today and got $ 38.00 in Halves. Results were 3 - 40%, 1 - 90%. I have not found a 90%er in the wild in about 8 months.

I know what you mean. When I was searching boxed halves over a year ago I would find the coins with "Buffalo Boy" written on some of them. So annoying, but I did find out that serious roll hunters mark some of the coins to see how the circulation of them works and how many come back to their own boxes. To me its a waste to do it.

I have seen dates on the coins that I get that someone tagged and dumped 3 weeks before I got to them in a box. Quick Turn Around here.

2nd box of halves for the week:

    1 90%er
    2 40%ers

Learning patience here. Have four more boxes coming in this week. I need one more 90%er to complete another tube!

    $10 MWR pennies: light on the wheats - just lower grade 1944 and 1956-D. 1968 Canada. 4 2009 (P). Beautifully blue-toned 1967.

    $20 MWR nickels: 1928 (second ever readable date Buffalo), 1940, 1941-S (hole filler), 1958-D x2, 2009-P

Third photo is a lowball 2002-P nickel and a zinc cent from the year 19! Not bad for 1,997 years old.

Been doing some crazy hunting since Thanksgiving... I've gone through 22,000 coins - 13,800 nickels, 8,200 cents... The highlights are below and include my 4th 1950-P nickel, and the highest grade 2009-P nickel out of the 17 I've managed to find in 241,400 coins... also found a dateless Buffalo which is sitting in some vinegar - "pickling" for a date at the moment. BTW, the cent with the hard to read date is a 1911 - it doesn't scan well. The 1935-D, and 1940-D are also hole fillers. 13800nickels4days2.jpg 8200centsin4days.jpg

Went to 3 branches of my bank today, looking for CWRs any denominations. Apparently there is a new kid around 12 years old buying everything in sight. Old bills and CWRs. I only was able to buy 2 rolls of CWR Quarters. Kid is encroaching on my territory! :-/

    So.

I bought some loomis boxes of pennies.

Well unfortunately there is nothing you can do except get there first. I'm 16 and I started 2 years ago myself. So there is a younger generation involved.
