Duci di Piacenza AV Quadrupla 1595 (postumus issue) under Ranuccio Farnese/ Alessandro Farnese is portrayed on issue. Piacenza Mint Ranuccio I Duca di Farnese and Parma note: Alessandro was a brilliant military commander in the Spanish army. He was in charge of Spanish forces fighting Dutch rebels in Flanders. He was to have spearheaded an invasion of England in 1588. The demise if the armada in that year/ ended hopes for Philp II to conquer England.
